CHARLOTTE, N.C. Dec 20 212— In February 2011, Antonio Stukes was shot by rapper Waka Flocka Flame’s security guards. The incident happened in the parking lot of the Car Stereo Warehouse, in East Charlotte.
Stukes, an aspiring rapper, approached Waka Flocka at the Car Stereo Warehouse — with the intention of handing him a demo CD. Upon doing so, Waka Flocka’s security guards opened fired on Stukes and five of his friends, striking Stukes in the shoulder.
Originally, CMPD officers had charged Stukes and his entourage with conspiracy, attempted armed robbery, and discharging a weapon — charges that were later dropped due to lack of evidence.
Yesterday, a Mecklenburg County civil jury ruled in favor of Stukes, and awarded him $501,000 in punititive damages — to be paid by Mizay Entertainment. The Entertainment company manages Waka Flocka, and is ultimately liable for the security guards actions.
